I'm a big fan of LibraryThing I don't tend to buy many books, so I have been using it to track books I have read. I also like to read other people's comments about books that they have read.

This tutorial was really helpful in showing how to track a range of blogs related to personal interest or studies. It could be really helpful to follow news and the weather.

While it's fun to learn to use these applications I think the expectation that we would ony need 15 mins for each activity is way off the beam. Most of us are trying to do this in work time, this estimate is not accurate and should be taken into consideration if the program runs again. The instructions for the various activities and the links aren't always obvious or helpful and one of my collegues suggested that it would be useful to have a teacher look at the program to make it more user friendly. This would also lower the frustration levels for those of us who are not very computer savvy

I'm up to 10: Play around with image generators

Found some interesting things on image generators went to snowflake generator as it is getting towards Christmas and I thought I would go with the theme. It was good fun making different shape snow flakes. I'm going to try to save to this post - so wish me luck Ok that did not work so here is the link if you want to create a snowflakehttp://www.zefrank.com/snowflake/ have fun.
Learning
Well just had a look at pbwiki and added a comment to someone's picture of a dog called Gus, he looked woolly and cute. I tried to find some wiki comments on goldfish but there was not to much there. Found a good picture on Flickr though.

Oops forget to save and publish so everything I typed has gone away. Have been looking at Flickr again and found some more great pictures. I have also been reading about wiki's and I think I understand the concept. I will play around with them a little more.

Back on track

Finally back on track with this blog. Have been having trouble finding a computer as Northcote is being painted. Went to the Queenscliff Music Festival on weekend - Paul Kelly was the highlight but there were lots of good acts - particular liked the jazz train. Have'nt really been thinking much about Christmas, I think I'd better get my act together and start doing some shopping and buying more tinsel - Ah! I love tinsel. Okay now I'm going to try to find a picture to put with this post.
Catch up again soon
